MOD ANYTHING
Privacy Policy
Effective October 8, 2026
This policy explains how the Mod Anything team ("we," "us") handles information when you use modanything.app, our desktop app, and our hosted account, AI, and mod-sharing services.
Information we handle
- Account information. When you sign in, we handle your email address, account identifier, session information, and profile details supplied by you or your sign-in provider, such as a name or avatar.
- AI requests. When you use AI features, we process your prompts, conversation context, attachments, and relevant code or file contents included by you or the agent. We also record request identifiers, model usage, credit charges, and safety or error information.
- Projects and shared mods. The desktop app stores workspaces, files, game paths, and local history on your device. Connected features may store project metadata online. Files or source included in an AI request are sent for processing; mod files and metadata you choose to publish are uploaded to our sharing service.
- Mod screenshots and videos. Capture starts only when you request it for a selected window. Full-resolution screenshots and videos are stored on your device until you select them for publication. AI capture sends reduced inspection images and video contact sheets to your selected AI provider as conversation context; capture chats and activity logs may be stored with your account. Videos record the selected game process's audio, not your microphone. Media you publish becomes visible to other users.
- Purchase records. If purchases are available, we handle transaction identifiers, amounts, purchase status, and credit balances. The checkout provider handles payment details; we do not collect full card numbers through our app.
- Technical information. Our infrastructure processes information such as IP addresses, request timestamps, device or browser information, and service logs for delivery, security, rate limits, and troubleshooting. We also handle messages you send to our team.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate you, operate the app and hosted features, process AI requests and purchases, maintain credit balances, display shared mods, respond to requests, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Google and other social sign-ins
When enabled, social sign-in supplies basic identity information to create or authenticate your account. Google sign-in uses your account identifier, email address, and basic profile information. It does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, your contacts, or your calendar. We do not send Google sign-in information to AI providers as part of authentication, or use it to train AI models or for advertising.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements where applicable. You can revoke Google access in your Google account settings. Revoking access does not itself delete your Mod Anything account.
Service providers and disclosure
We use Supabase for hosted accounts and database services, Vercel for website and backend hosting, and Cloudflare for delivery and downloads. AI features send request content to the selected model provider, such as OpenAI or Anthropic, and may send relevant queries to search or safety services. These providers process submitted information under their applicable policies. Do not include passwords, API keys, or other sensitive information in prompts or files submitted to AI features.
When a payment provider such as Stripe or Steam is enabled, it processes purchases under its own terms and privacy policy. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect users, enforce our terms, or investigate abuse.
Public content and local files
Published mod descriptions, releases, and any source you choose to share are available to other users. They may be downloaded or copied, so removing a publication cannot remove copies already held by others. Installing or uninstalling the desktop app does not by itself delete hosted account records. Local game scans and project organization can operate without a cloud account; this does not mean that information included in an AI request or upload stays on your device.
Cookies and app storage
Sign-in features use session tokens and, where applicable, cookies or local app storage to maintain authentication and preferences. The website does not use advertising cookies. Sign-in and checkout providers may use their own cookies under their policies. You can clear browser or app storage, although this may sign you out or reset local preferences.
Storage, security, and retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the relevant service, maintain account and transaction records, address security issues, and meet legal obligations. Data may be processed outside your country by our service providers. We use safeguards such as encrypted connections and access controls, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Some records may remain in backups or be retained for legal, accounting, or abuse-prevention purposes after deletion.
Your choices and requests
You can choose which files to submit, whether to publish a mod, and whether to use cloud features. Sign out to end your app session. To request access, correction, a copy, or deletion of your account and personal information, contact support@modanything.app from the email associated with your account. We may verify your identity before acting. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a data protection authority.
Children
Mod Anything is not intended for children under 13 or the higher minimum age required in their location. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update its effective date and provide additional notice for material changes where required. For privacy questions, contact the Mod Anything team at support@modanything.app.
